Lxxx Bxxxx Jxx

Do you know what series this is going to join?   This is going to be named something like  "Lxxx Bxxxx Jxx", but I am not tell you the entire name just yet.  There should be some surprises still left, right?
This design will be making a debut soon enough in the early part of 2016  - as yet another addition to our Monochrome Sampler series. The whole set is over on my main site so take a look and make room on your walls.  Now that I have said that, notice how nicely this one color coordinates with the  newest 'mini' accompaniment in the tea and coffee set -  "Have A Cuppa".  Go see for yourself!  I think you simply must purchase both!
This newest pending design was based on the next color of my design list; we have one more after this until I think of another idea. Do any of you have color suggestions??

These dainty finger tips belong to Kell, a wonderfully patient and accurate stitcher.  I am not sure how she took this picture by herself, but she is amazing.

Tea, Crumpets and Turkeys

I surely had not intended to post another thing about turkeys, at least not for a while, but I simply must.  You see, as a complete surprise to me, I have apparently released a design on this very day.  Don't ask how this happened, but.... it did.
If you want to see just what I released go see it for yourself.  Hop over to my main site = new design
You will notice that what you see here and there, both, all ties together!  The colors, that is, they all tie together, not the subject matter.  Now, if you recall, I discussed the colors of turkey feathers a while back, but I might not have mentioned some have blue heads (Yes!!)  The colors are magnificent. In fact, you can see the Magnificent Nine who came to visit one summer day.
Also, there are a few other shots to give you the idea of inspirational sources.

Colors are everywhere and often, the most simple of natural things trigger an idea. In the case of the turkeys, it became the idea for a checkered copper tea kettle and a few other little doo-dads, all stitched in those same feathery shades and tones.  Teals, rust and coppers, browns....   Now do you see the source of my designing madness?  Nature, pure and simple.
These unusual birds started it all.  I've not seen them since that fateful summer of 2014 when first they flashed their feathers at me and gobbled down my garden walk.

A Practically Perfect 11-28-15

This is just a "something is pending" teaser.   Are you awake and alert after all the yummy turkey and fixings!  The rest is lots of color but deemed to remain a mystery for now.   This last month, I had to take a stitching break, mostly to reflect on how grateful I am for all the good in my life.  I am alive, I am loved and have many someones to love.  Daughters, kitties and a few true and marvelous friends.  I have ideas and plans and creative endeavors.  I look forward to each day!  The new-crop turkeys out on the stepping stones, young hens at this point, are are wide awake, looking for more goodies!  to be scattered out there just for their pleasure.
Rather than looking for goodies, I am currently working at some designs of a playful nature.  Perhaps this will be the year of capricious designs?  Will you take a guess?  I think some of those golden stitches look a bit like cracked corn.  Do you?  Is there any logic to all of this?    Nope – it’s all  just for fun; whimsical, fantastical fun.  :-)

More Little Snippets

A few more little stitches - a little forest on a dark, blue night.  I wonder what this will end up to be?  My imagine leads me to stitch a little more!

A Little Bit More

I knew I couldn't keep my fingers away from stitching this little thing, whatever it may be.  So here is a tad more.  Someone commented that one of these little houses reminded them of the Tardis, Dr. Who style.  Could it be? If so, this might be a entire neighbor of Tardis.  Is there a plural of that word?  It is debatable.    Anyway, I continue in my stitching and will show you more at a later date.

Waning October Teaser

There are only a few hours remaining in the month of October 2015, up here in the mountains of Idaho.  It's too chilly and wet to play in the garden, so  here I am..... spending those hours stitching on a tiny goodie.  This is a little teaser and I wonder how many of you know what this might be.

I'll post more as time passes so watch for my teasers.   I would love to day once a month, but I am not sure I can wait that long between pictures!
By the way, this is a challenge for me - one over one. But this  wonderful Nordic Blue linen in 28 count is so hard to resist. Tell me, how many of you like to work over 1 thread of your fabric?

Arc of White Revisited

Recently, Facebook member Dana Burt contacted me to say she had completed a stitch project. Here is her story:

"This is "Arc of White" from Deborah A. Dick of Tempting Tangles Designs. I'm not sure how long it took to stitch because I put it away during the demolition/remodel of the kitchen, and then when I did bring it out again, I found Frannie's fur (her sweet doggie companion) on it and started to cry too much to stitch it for a few days. (that fur is woven into the stitching, so she'll always be there) I did it on a much darker blue fabric than called for, so stitched with an LED worklight on my lap. I also used Dinky Dyes for the fibers. In spite of looking complicated, this was such a fun stitch! I enjoyed working on it so much.
Arc of White has been brought to life many a time since then.  I think most people love the look of geometric look of lacy webs - spider and other - and my charming  resident garden arachnid is a delicate little beauty.

Kisses and Hugs

The images here are just one more of those to be released in mid October.

This design didn't make it into the recent newsletter.

By the way, I am guessing that none of you know just how difficult it is to photograph an version of purple and get it to look correct onscreen.  It takes an act of magic, honestly.  Here, you see the right shades, along with the other one you most surely saw in the newsletter.  If not, perhaps you will sign up - go see the signup form on the front page of this blog.

As for the rest of this intriguing design, do let your imagination run wild!

Things to Come

See more here at:

Here is a little taste of a design coming to you from next month's show.   Needlework Show

I am sure you can guess the source of my inspiration. Don't you love the cut glass ink well and stopper?

Below, let me show you some other snippets from a design that has been in the works for almost 3 years.  Notice the lovely waterfall over in the lower left. And the infamous serpent on the right side.  This is my needlework twist on a most wonderful story with a double meaning.  I hope you will enjoy seeing the entire design next month at the Needlework Show online.
