I Wonder Who is Looking?

Some of you may have found goodies of mine in the recent  2016 Just Cross Stitch issue.  Another pair in my series of ornaments which tell a story.  I always prefer to have my work tell a story more than anything else.  These are the 2016 versions.

The rooster is in the Halloween ornament magazine and also in the recent autumn edition, whatever month it was named,m probably October. The names of these little ones are Cock-A-Doodle Boo and the S'mores Bear-B-Q.  Someday, in the far, far, faraway future, you will see this pair in favorite needlework shop.

Punkin Play Kitty Hunt

"Punkin Play" has all the favorite parts of Halloween.  There is a black mama cat, standing on her tiptoes (claws?) looking for her little black kittens with the cutest pink noses I have ever seen.  They are hiding in a big, spooky pumpkin. Can she find them??
 ?????????????????????????

At a perfect ornament size, this design in 68 x 63.  The model was worked on Weeks Dye Works 35 count Guacamole linen #1193.  We used 2 strands of Gloriana silk floss.
In addition, our chart key has a conversion to Dinky Dyes silk as well as DMC cotton.  The eyes and noses are Mill Hill glass seed beads #02004 Tea Rose and #02031 Citron.
Your favorite needlework shop can order this chart for you or you can find it on my online Etsy shop here in pdf.  Punkin Play at Etsy Shop

Quaker Arrows

These are in the schedule and will  be a lot of fun for you to stitch. Each can be worked over 1 thread – and  have a Quaker feel!   I have a set of 4 or so and the inspiration just keeps coming.  One is Echoing Evergreens; the other is Bees in Clover.

My Muse hasn't slept much on these long summer nights!

Stitching A New One

One Skein of Dinky Dyes of variegated floss called Toni’s Texas Tea #188 and you get a load of pretty colors.  This is the beginning of something interesting.  It reminds me of a field of wild flowers – or perhaps because the name of the floss involves tea, the recipe might involve cherries, peaches, limes, oranges and all kinds of fruity delight.  I wonder!  So this is just a little taste.

Cupcake for Dessert

A lovely friend, Arlene Harris, also one of my gifted finishers, just sent me a picture of a finish!
This is a little Cupcake Pincushion which she has made into a sweet little needlebook.  This design is a freebie for members of my Tempting Tangles stitching group out on Facebook.
Nice work, Arlene!  I am so pleased to see this all  done - and such tidy, perfect work. Since it wouldn't be wise to actually take a bite out of this cupcake, I suppose it will have to stay as a pincushion!

Spring Hath Sprung

These  a taste of something I've been working on - and maybe you can guess the subject matter.  If anyone knows me well, they know I love gardens, plants, animals- natural beauty.

It is mostly in my garden where I find the greatest sense of relaxation.  So, I send you just a bit of my garden.  If you are on Facebook, I do post pix around this time of year to show the progression of my garden. I hope you can find it and take a look.

This pair of designs, as well as two others set to appear later in the year, were worked over 1 on 25 count Lugana.  The result is a set of dainty  little pieces, only 4 1/2 inches square each.   In a few more days, I will post the rest of the details on my main site.
